THE Deadline Day Thread *Unofficial*
Good Morning! Hope you're all doing well!

It's deadline day so here is the official thread (my fav day of the year)!

Will Chelsea do a dawn raid on us? Will a right back appear? Which team will waste the most money?

Any team without their best two players will struggle

Hazard and Costa

Vardy and Mahrez

Aguero and De Bryne

Thats football, if they are as good as your best players and sitting on the bench you are doing wonders

Unfortunately without Payet and Lanzini we will still really struggle.

Lots of Premier League games are hard fought for 75 mins and in the balance and its about who each team has on the bench.
Some people seem very ANXIOUS that we have more than 11 good players and that some may have to wait their chance or raise their game.
Or be able to come on in the last 15 mins and win us a game.

If Feghouli has been battling away in a game its a good thing to look around and throw someone like Antonio or Ayew on isn't it?

Re: THE Deadline Day Thread *Unofficial*
The only way Feghouli (or Ayew) get in the team is if they are better than Lanzini or Antonio.... great position to be in as they will be going some if they get in ahead of those two.

We do however now have players that can come in without any noticeable drop in standard.

"Apart from Zaza you could argue that none of our new signings would get into a fully fit first team"

I have a good feeling about Feghouli and reckon he could be a first team regular

A fit Ayew does but thats not the point, the game is much bigger than the 11 players on the pitch now. Europa or not, bigger squads are needed.

We've strengthened well and if it wasn't for Sullivan mouthing off about a "marquee 20 goal a season striker" expectation would have been lower.

Well there's a chance at least that someone will put a brain in his head and beef him up. He clearly wasnt going anywhere on either front here. And at least him out the door means more opportunity for the likes of Norman Stanley.

Does ANYONE think Everton will actually buy Valencia after seeing him up close and personal ?.............no me neither, so we will end up having him back

Re: THE Deadline Day Thread *Unofficial*
Apart from Zaza you could argue that none of our new signings would get into a fully fit first team (though I really like the look of Arthur) so I can see why some reckon it was a mediocre window.

However, our first team last season was a match for anyone, what we lacked was decent depth. Without Payet and Lanzini we really struggled. Okay, injuries have been unkind to us already but we really have new depth in the squad now and should be much better placed to cope with injuries to key players.

I haven't seen Feghouli in the flesh yet, some seem to rate him, others don't but he could prove key to us... I can't see him being first choice (yet) but if he isn't he could be the go to sub and main stand in, and that is a pretty major up grade on last season.

Also, really like our policy on youngsters. Have high hopes for Fletcher and Martinez in particular and very glad that we seem set on giving the two Reeces a go.

the thing about city - what happens when Aguero gets banned and/or injured?? who plays upfront then??

Not sure whats worse Everton taking Valencia or Spurs spending £30M on Sissoko......few years back that bought you Hazard or Sanchez. Markets have gone mad

Agree we should of got Bony or Remy on loan......better back up options then Sakho or Calleri

Man United and Man City look to of had great windows....Arsenal spent alot but not got alot in terms of quality for me. Chelsea doing the usual spending millions upon millions on shit that will sit on the bench all season then will be off next summer (see Luis, Rahman, Schurlle, Cuadrado).

Everton fans having a meltdown on Twitter, my fave tweet was along the lines of 'We have Valencia, Niasse and Kone in the same club FFS'

Agree with Any Old Iron - really disappointed we didn't go for Bony. Premier league experience, good goal ratio at Swansea, played out of form at City (as so many players are when they move to bigger clubs) and a good link man.

Unless Sakho is going to sort himself out and play, I still think with the way we pick up injuries we could be light in the goals scored department.

Re: THE Deadline Day Thread *Unofficial*
Our weakness could end up being central midfield. Rely a lot on Kouyates industry and when he is off a bit of form or missing we look weak. We have a lot of flair players out wide who don't do much to win the ball back so the central midfielders need to be all over the pitch.

Lets see whether the likes of Nordtveit or Obiang step up and Bilic finds a good balance. We certainly have enough decent players now.

Unless he did it again Enner's long slow walk was against Bournemouth when we were 0-0 but building up a head of steam for the expectation that Tore would have his one good cross ready to go.

Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City look like they strengthened the most and will be surprised if at least two of those are not all in the top four.

Our business was average at best. How high we come this season relies on Zaza taking the many chances coming his way. He is crap if he can't convert at least 15 from Payet, Lanzini, Ayew, Antonio, Fegouli, Tore many assists, without mentioning crosses from the fullbacks Cresswell, Artur, Byram and Arbeloa.

I would have been over the moon if we had signed Kante or a player of his ilk. Nordveit and Obiang don't look up to the job. DM is the one position we needed to nail and we look a soft touch in midfield for me.

No interest in Obiang then, can't say I'm surprised.

Thank fuck this circus is over anyway.

If our Injured players come back I think everything will be fine we did not have to go mad, and have brought in some ok to good players like everyone ZAZA is the one we will all have our eye on cannot wait for Fegouli and Ayew to return along with Carroll and we will be flying.

South American news outlets are going on like Vancia has earned a move to a bigger club 😂😂😂

Best of luck Enner hope you earn £14.5 mil for us. I won't hold my breath though.
